My Role
Freelance UI/UX Designer
OVERVIEW
PROJECT BRIEF
Endo-App is a health tracking application designed to help users monitor their symptoms, activities, and events related to endometriosis.
⚡ CHALLENGES
Before the design, users faced difficulties accessing relevant health data based on specific dates or symptoms/activities/events due to the absence of search and filtering features. This resulted in a less efficient user experience within Endo-App.
💫 MY ROLE
As a UI/UX Designer, I aimed to improve the user interface (UI) of the Endo-App, specifically focusing on enhancing the filter and search functionality within the health log. The goal was to enable users to efficiently navigate and track their health data, and make informed decisions. 🔸 DESIGN ROADMAP 🔸

DISCOVERY
SECONDARY RESEARCH
While they provided me clear instructions on what users needed, I conducted secondary research to understand user behaviors and preferences in health tracking apps. This research helped me to identify common pain points.
USER STORIES
“As a user, I want to filter for a specific date or symptom/activity/event so that I can quickly find relevant log entries. ”
“As a user, I want to see at first glance if I had a symptom on a specific day so that I can easily track my health over time. ”
USER FLOW
I created a user flow diagram that illustrates the steps a user would take to use the filter and search functionality from landing on the log page to finding the desired information.
UI CONCEPTS
SOLUTIONS
After analyzing the app, creating user flows, and identifying user stories, I carefully selected these key features to address specific pain points and enhance the overall user experience. These UI elements are essential in health tracking apps, providing efficient ways for users to manage, navigate, and make sense of their health information.
NEEDS
- Tabbed navigation
- Search bar integration
- Filter functionality
- Date picker feature
- Renovated navigation bar
MOTIVATIONS
- Clear categorization
- Personalized experience
- Providing a quick and direct method for users to find specific entries
- Enabling precise analysis of health over time
- Enhancing visual appeal, and improving accessibility
DESIGN DECISIONS
GENERAL OVERVIEW
I designed the filter and search functionality within the Endoapp. The aim was to create a system where users can track their own health data more easily, thus increasing user interaction and simplifying navigation. Focusing on these core elements allowed me to explore how UI decisions directly impact user experience. While time constaints prevented me from testing my design decisions, future improvements should include direct user feedback to improve the design and address any remaining usability issues.
